ABOUT NORTH BROOKLYN CATS

North Brooklyn Cats is an all-volunteer 501c3 cat rescue group dedicated to helping abandoned, displaced, and feral cats and kittens, primarily in northern Brooklyn.

We find permanent and foster homes for adoptable cats and kittens. We practice trap‐neuter‐return (“TNR”) to relieve overpopulation and suffering among free-roaming and feral cats while working with community cat caretakers to help maintain the health and well-being of local feral cat colonies. The work ranges from getting lifesaving vet care for sick or injured feral cats to taking in orphaned newborn kittens that need round the clock bottle feeding and specialized care.

We are a tiny group with limited resources and no shelter facility. Please understand that we may not be able to answer every request for help. We believe it’s vital to involve and educate community members about doing their own TNR projects and helping cats in need that they encounter. We are in constant need of foster homes to care for our cats until they are ready of adoption. Please reach out if you can foster or donate!

ADOPTION PROCESS

TO ADOPT
1. Meet your potential new kitty
2. Complete an application
3. Cat(s)/Kitten(s) is/are introduced to your home with the adoption contract to review and sign. The representative will collect the adoption donation of $175. This covers spay/neuter, FIV/FELV testing, vaccinations (FVRCP and rabies), microchipping and contributes to our foster care vet bills and medications.

We do not have a shelter space, but can arrange a virtual meeting either at the foster home.

TO FOSTER
Fill out an application or come meet us at our weekly adoption event.
